ORDER

The prayer sought for herein is for a writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to pass orders on the representation dated 27.07.2022 by awarding compensation to the petitioner's acquired land in S.No.60/2D at Poongunam Vilalge, Chetpet Taluk, Tiruvannamalai District measuring an extent of 5 cents.

2. It is a claim of the petitioner that the petitioner's land at Poongunam Village, Chetpet Taluk, Tiruvannamalai District has been acquired for the purpose of Highways project by the respondents. Thereafter, according to the petitioner, so far no compensation has been awarded and consequently, nothing has been paid so far to the petitioner. Therefore, in order to award compensation and pay the same to the petitioner, the petitioner has given a representation to the first respondent on 27.07.2022 and in order to consider the same, the petitioner has moved the present writ petition with the aforesaid prayer.

3. Heard Mr.K.Perumalswamy, learned counsel appearing for the 2/4

petitioner and Mrs.Akila Rajendran, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

Learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the said representation of the petitioner dated 27.07.2022 would be considered by the first respondent and accordingly, a decision would be taken thereon on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

5. Considering the said submission made by the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, this Court is inclined to dispose of this writ petition with the following order: That there shall be a direction to the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.07.2022 and pass necessary orders thereon on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight(8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
