The Writ Petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondents to provide police protection to the petitioner and her husband.
2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner was in love with one Gokul Prasad and married him on 15.01.2023, against the wishes of her parents. Therefore, the petitioner's parents are giving life threat to the petitioner and her husband. Thereby, the petitioner has sent a representation, dated 21.01.2023 to the respondent. But, the same has not been considered so far. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.
3. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent submitted that the petitioner's mother one Thangamani has given a complaint that her daughter was found missing from 13.01.2023. On the basis of the said complaint, a case for "Woman Missing" was registered in Crime No.21 of 2023 on the file of the third respondent Police. He further submitted that the mother of the said Gokul Prasad, petitioner's husband has also given a complaint that her son was missing
from 13.01.2023. On the basis of her complaint a case in Crime No.15 of 2023 was registered by the second respondent Police for "Man Missing". It is submitted that investigation with regard to both the First Information Reports are pending. Meanwhile, the respondents Police received a letter dated 21.01.2023 from the petitioner stating that her father is threatening her and sought the respondent Police to take appropriate action on the basis of the letter.

In the light of the above submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), this Court directs the respondent Police to give necessary and appropriate police protection to the petitioner and her husband on the basis of the representation letter sent by the petitioner dated 21.01.2023.
5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands allowed. No costs.
