The petitioner has filed the above writ petition to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to give permission to conduct the cultural programme at Sri Devi Karumariyamman Temple at Gandhipuram, Senthamangalam Village and Post, Namakkal District, in connection with the festival of Sri Devi Karumariyamman Temple on 24.04.2017 by considering his representation dated 13.04.2017.
2. Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned Government Advocate.
3. It is the case of the petitioner that inspite of the representation being given to the respondent on 13.04.2017 for conducting cultural programme, the respondent has not passed orders till today.

4. A Division Bench of this Court in W.P.(MD).No.3773 of 2017 by order dated 03.03.2017 in similar circumstances directed the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation and dispose of the same.
5. Following the order passed by the Division Bench, this Court directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.04.2017 and pass orders, on merits and in accordance with law, on or before 24.04.2017. This Court makes it clear that the fact of the order being issued today shall not weigh with the authority concerned and the authority shall take a decision solely upon merits.
6.With these observations, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
