ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent herein to consider and pass order on the petitioner's application dated 29.12.2023 for the grant of contract Page No.1 of 4

carriage Maxi cab permit in respect of vehicle TN 18 D 1379 forthwith.

2. Heard Mr.K.Hariharan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.V.Ravi, learned Special Government Pleader who takes notice for the respondent.

3. The petitioner purchased a maxi cab van bearing Registration Number TN-18/D-1379 in the month of November 2023. On 29.12.2023 he applied for contract carriage maxi cab permit for the said vehicle before the respondent herein. The respondent received the said application on 04.01.2024. However, till date no order has been passed on the application submitted by the petitioner on 29.12.2023. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader who takes notice for the respondent submitted that if short time is given, the application submitted by the petitioner will be considered and orders will be passed.

Government Pleader, this Writ Petition is disposed and the respondent is directed to consider the application submitted by the petitioner on 29.12.2023 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
