Mr.TNC.Kaushik, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice for R1 to R4 and is armed with instructions to proceed with the matter finally. Hence, by consent of both learned Counsel, this Writ Petition is disposed finally even at the stage of admission.
2. The petitioner, a senior citizen, questions the undue delay in disposal of application under the Tamil Nadu Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 (in short 'Act') pointing out her representation is dated 21.06.2021 and there has been no action taken by the respondents in that regard till date.
3. Mr.Kaushik, points out that the application has been erroneously filed before the District Collector and not before the Revenue Divisional Officer, before whom it ought to have been filed. Hence the delay, he states.

Without reference to the aforesaid rival contentions and since the object of the Act is to ensure speedy redressal of the grievance of senior citizens, a direction is issued to the concerned Revenue Divisional Officer, who is not arrayed as party to this Writ Petition, but to whom this order shall be conveyed by learned Additional Government Pleader, to hear the petitioner as well as any other parties, who may be thought necessary and dispose the application of the petitioner dated 21.06.2021 within a period of six (6) weeks from today.
4. The Writ Petition is disposed in the aforesaid terms. No costs.
