The relief sought for in the present writ petition is for a direction to direct the respondents herein to include the applicant's name in the panel year of 1994-95 fit for regular promotion to the Post of Assistant Director of Horticulture and consequently promote the petitioner to the post of Assistant Director of Horticulture with effect from 16.10.1995.

2. The very writ petition was filed during the year 2001, now after a lapse of about 11 years from the cause of action. Thus, there is an enormous delay even in filing the writ petition. The application was originally filed before the Tamil Nadu Administrative Tribunal in O.A.No.831 of 2001 and on account of abolition of the Tamil Nadu Administrative Tribunal, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the case has been transferred to this Court and renumbered as W.P.No.27767 of 2005.

3. During the pendency of the writ petition, the petitioner attained the age of superannuation during the year 2009 itself. This being the factum, the relief as such sought for in the present writ petition deserves no consideration. If at all, any grievances exist as of now to the writ petitioner, it is left open to him to approach the competent authorities for the redressal of his grievances in the manner known to law.
