ORDER : The Court Made the following order :- The petitioner apprehends arrest by the respondent police for the offences punishable under Section 378 of IPC r/w. 49(B) of the Tamil Nadu Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 in Crime No.8 of 2021, is before this Court seeking anticipatory bail.

The petitioner who is arrayed 12th accused in the case of illicit trade of ivory is before this Court, on the ground that the recovery was not from him and only on the basis of the confession statement of the other accused, he has been arrayed as an accused, though he is an innocent person.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) states that on secret information, the raiding team had recovered two ivories worth around Rs.25,00,000/- and two cars were seized from the accused 1 to

in this case and from the confession statement of these accused, the role of the petitioner was that arranged for the sale of ivories, has come to the knowledge of the Investigating Officer. This petitioner is absconding and being a racket in ivory trade illegally, which is an international trade, releasing of the petitioner by granting anticipatory bail will probabilize the abscondence of the petitioner from out of this country. The investigation in this case is under way and this petitioner is still at large.

Taking note of the fact that the wildlife has been killed for its ivory trading, the anticipatory bail sought by this petitioner not entertained.
