ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the learned Sessions Judge, Special Court for Exclusive Trial of Cases registered under SC & ST Atrocities Act, Villupuram, Villupuram District to expedite the proceedings in Special SC.No.97 of 2016 on his file and also to complete the proceedings accordingly within the stipulated time. 2.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Sessions Judge, Special Court for Exclusive Trial of Cases registered under SC & ST Atrocities Act, Villupuram, Villupuram District, is directed to dispose of the case in Special SC.No.97 of 2016 within a period of six months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Considering the age of the petitioner, the personal appearance of the petitioner/Kalaiyarasan before the trial court is dispensed with and he shall be represented by a counsel after filing appropriate application. However, the petitioner shall be present before the Court at the time of furnishing of copies, framing charges, questioning under Section 313 Cr.P.C. and at the time of passing judgment. The trial court may proceed with the trial in respect of the other accused.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is Allowed.
