Heard Mr. G.Ilamurugu, Learned Counsel for the Petitioner and Mr. K.H.Ravi Kumar, Learned Government Advocate appearing for the Respondents and perused the materials placed on record, apart from the pleadings of the parties.

Learned Counsel for the Petitioner has sought for a direction to the respondents to appoint him to the post of Makkal Nala Paniyalaf in terms of G.O. Ms. No. 90, Urban Development Department dated 20.05.1999 issued by the Government of Tamil Nadu as per the waiting list. 3.

The Hon'ble Supreme Court in Government of Tamil Nadu -vs- Tamil Nadu Makkal Nala Paniyalagral (Order dated 11.04.2023 in Civil Appeal Nos. 10563 to 10569 of 2017) has rejected the claims of persons similarly placed to the Petitioner. In that circumstances it is not possible to grant the relief sought in the Writ Petition, but it would not be preclude him to pursue the remedies for any other reliefs that he would be entitled under law. 2/4

In fine, the Writ Petition stands dismissed with the aforesaid clarifications. No Costs.
