ORDER

The petitioner has filed the present writ petition praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 03.05.2013, within a time frame fixed by this Court. 1/3

2. The case of the petitioner is that he was initially appointed as Assistant Professor of English on 17.07.1985 at Government Arts College in Tindivanam. After getting the award of Ph.D., he was designated as Reader in English during the year 1998. Thereafter, the petitioner was re-designated as Associate Professor of English. While he was working as Associate Professor at Dr.Ambedhkar Government Arts College, Vysarpadi, he got a teaching assignment in one of the Universities in Libya during the year 2009. He was offered the post of Professor of English by the Ministry of Education, Libya. After prior approval from the Government of Tamil Nadu, he served at Libya during the academic year 2009-2010 and his service was also protected.

On his return from Libya, he was posted as Associate Professor of English at Government Arts College, Nandanam, on 09.08.2010. While he was serving as Associate Professor in Government Arts College, Nandanam, he was subjected to several acts of harassment by the then Principal-in-charge Mr.Venkataraman and Bursar, Ms.Lakshmi at Government Arts College, Nandanam. Aggrieved over the alleged atrocities at the hands of the then Principal-in-charge and Bursar, the petitioner made a representation dated 03.05.2013 to the Secretary, Higher Education Department, however, till date, the said representation has not been considered. Hence, this writ petition has been filed with the aforesaid prayer.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner reported no instructions from the parties as she has already given change of vakalath.

4. Heard the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

5. Considering the limited prayer made by the petitioner, without going into the merits of the matter, the first respondent is hereby directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 03.05.2013, if not already considered, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
