This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to issue Non-Traceable Certificate in Crime No.976 of 2021 on the file of the respondent.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that petitioner's four wheeler bearing Reg.No.TN 02 BT 3052 Ashok Leyland was stolen on 11.08.2021 night. Therefore, he gave a complaint on 11.08.2021, based on which, FIR was registered on 12.08.2021 in Crime No.976 of 2021 for the offence under Section 379 of IPC on the file of the Arumbakkam Police Station. However, till now, respondent police is not able to trace his vehicle. Therefore, present petition is filed seeking directions for the respondent to issue NonTraceable Certificate.

3. In response, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that, during the course of the investigation, respondent police arrested Austin and other, from whom 10 four-wheelers have been recovered. One of the number plate of one vehicle is tallied with the number plate of the petitioner. However, Engine Number and Chasis Number did not matched. Respondent Police is investigating over them.

4. In the light of the submissions made by the counsels on either sides, it is seen that no vehicle seized have been matches to the vehicle stolen from the petitioner. FIR was registered on 12.08.2021 and till now, respondent police is not able to trace the petitioner's vehicle.

In the said circumstances, this Court directs the respondent to issue Non-Traceable Certificate to the petitioner for not tracing the vehicle bearing Reg.No.TN 02 BT 3052 Ashok Leyland within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of the order, so that the petitioner can work out his remedy before the Insurance company.

6. With the above observations and direction, the Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
