contest the special test for the post of Assistant and accommodate the petitioner in the secretariat.

For Petitioner : Mr.D.C.Muthusanthan For Respondents : Mr.L.S.M.Hasan Fizal Additional Government Pleader COMMON ORDER These Writ Petitions have been filed challenging the proceedings passed by the second respondent on various dates, thereby terminating the petitioners' service on contract basis as Temporary Assistants.

The petitioners were sponsored through employment exchange for the appointment of Assistant on contract basis of supernumerary post on extraordinary circumstances, in the year 2003. Their consolidate salary was fixed as Rs.5000/-. While being so, the applications were called for group IV service. All the petitioners were applied for and they were selected to the post of Junior Assistant. Therefore, the second respondent issued the impugned proceedings, thereby terminating the petitioners' service on contract basis as temporary Assistants and also directed them to join in the post of Junior

Assistant with basic salary of Rs.4000/-. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioners filed the present writ petitions. 3.

Admittedly, all the petitioners were participated in the group IV examination and selected for the post of Junior Assistant. Therefore, the second respondent rightly terminated their earlier service on temporary Assistant on contract basis and directed them to join in the post of Junior Assistant. Therefore, nothing survive in these petitions and no further order is required.

Hence, all the Writ Petitions are closed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are also closed. There shall be no order as to cost.
