This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to register the General Power of Attorney deed dated 16.12.2024.

2. Heard Mr.I.Jayaseelan, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.R.Sasikumar, learned Government Advocate appearing for respondent.

3. The grievance expressed by the petitioner is that the General Power of Attorney document was sought to be registered by submitting a proper application for which a token was generated. However, the respondent is refusing to receive the document and register the same. Aggrieved by the same, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

4. Learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondent submitted that there are reasons for not registering the General Power of Attorney document that was presented for registration. 2/4

If there are reasons for not registering the General Power of Attorney document, the same has to be informed to be petitioner by way of refusal check slip or else if any clarification is required, clarification shall be sought for from the petitioner and the document can be registered. After having received the application and after generating a token, the petitioner cannot be left in limbo. Hence, there shall be a direction to the respondent to inform the petitioner about the decision taken by the respondent regarding the Power of Attorney document presented for registration, within a period of one (1) week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
