This criminal original petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the learned Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CCB CBCID) Egmore, to expeditiously dispose of the petition in Crl.M.P.No.26055 of 2023 filed under Section 173(8) Cr.P.C.
2. Heard Mr.P.Vijendran, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.A.Gopinath, learned Government Advocate [Crl.side] appearing for first respondent.
3. This Court called for a report from the Court below and the report has been received. From the report, it is seen that the petition is now at the stage of filing of counter by the police and the Court below has made it clear that no further adjournment will be given. The case stands adjourned to 13.03.2024.

4. In the light of the above, there shall be a direction to the Court below to dispose of Crl.M.P.No.26055 of 2023 on its own merits and in accordance with law within a period of four (4) weeks. This Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above direction.
