ORDER

This writ petition has been filed challenging the Notification in Se.Ma.Tho.E/129/Land Acquisition/2005 issued by the respondent - District Collector, Nagapattinam, under Section 4(1) of The Land Acquisition Act, 1894, published in Daily Thanthi on 23.07.2005 for acquisition of land for providing house sites to the landless fishermen, who lost their houses during tsunami.

2. Earlier notice was ordered to the respondent. The Government Advocate appearing for the respondent would submit that in a private negotiation, the petitioner had accepted the offer and had received the entire compensation amount in respect of his land which was acquired for the project. He has produced a Xerox copy of the statement given by the petitioner. The learned Government Advocate would further submit that the petitioner had also executed a sale deed in favour of the respondent.

3. Recording the submission of the learned Government Advocate, this writ petition is dismissed as nothing survives for further adjudication. No costs. Consequently connected Miscellaneous petition is closed.
