PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to forbear from discharging the petitioner from employment upto the end of the academic year 2015-2016, that is 31.05.2016.

This writ petition is filed seeking for a mandamus directing the respondents to forbear from discharging the petitioner from employment upto the end of the academic year 2015-2016.
The petitioner was working as a B.T. Assistant and reached the age of superannuation on 01.07.2015. The petitioner's requested the respondents to permit him to continue to work until the end of the academic year 2015-2016 but the same was declined by the respondents. Thereby, this writ petition.
The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that his Page No.2 of 4
office had addressed a letter to the petitioner, however, it was returned unserved and that she has no instructions from the petitioner since a long time.
The learned Additional Government Pleader is present and submitted that the petitioner was given extension to work till the end of the academic year 2015-2016, as sought for and thereby, the relief sought for by the petitioner has become infructuous.
Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

Considering the submissions made by both sides and taking into consideration the fact that the relief sought for by the petitioner has already been fulfilled by the respondents and the petitioner has retired on 31.05.2016 after working until completion of academic year, the cause does not survive for the petitioner any more to prosecute this case.
