Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to pass an order of Writ of Certiorarified mandamus, calling for the records relating to G.O.Ms.No.241 (Housing and Urban Development) (UD-111-1) Department, dated 19.09.2003 on the file of the 1st respondent herein and to quash the same in so far as clauses I, II and III of para - 3 therein is concerned and to direct the 2nd respondent to register the Mortgage Deed or the Sale Deed presented by the petitioner for registration in respect of lands in S.Nos.201/1, 201/2, 198/9,

198/8B, 198/10, 198/11, 198/12, 198/13 and 198/7 measuring an extent of 6.85 acres at Thiruvidanthan Village, Chengalpetu Taluk, Kancheepuram District.

O R D E R

In view of G.O.(Ms).No.241, Housing & Urban Development Department, dated 19.09.2003, future development and registration of lands in Thaiyur and Thiruvidanthai villages were banned on the ground of formation of an administrative city at that point of time. Aggrieved against G.O.(Ms) No.241, Housing & Urban Development Department, dated 19.09.2003, the present writ petition has been filed.

2. Today, when the matter was called, it is brought to the notice of this Court that through G.O.(Ms).No.100, Housing and Urban Development (UDIII(1) Department, dated 21.03.2007, the Government has cancelled the orders issued in G.O.(Ms) No.241, Housing & Urban Development Department, dated 19.09.2003. As such, the prayer sought for in the present writ petition has become infructuous. Accordingly, the writ petition stands closed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
