ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.,] The above petition has been filed by the petitioner/wife of the detenu, to cause production of her husband Nagendra Prabu,

who is said to be in the illegal custody of the respondents 5 and 6, before this Court and to set him at liberty. 2.It is the case of the petitioner that her husband Nagendra Prabu went missing, in connection with which a case in Cr.No.1054/2014 for "man missing" has been registered by the respondent police on 24.09.2014 and the investigation is in progress. The respondent police have filed a Status Report, wherein it is stated as follows in paragraph nos.10 and 11: "10.I submit that prior to the complaint of the petitioner, the respondent police received a complaint from one Tr.Ganesan, S/o.Ramalingam on 22.09.2014 stating that he is the relative of the detenue Nagendra Prabh they both conducted Chit Fund and collected Rs.6 lakhs from the chit members and the collected amount handed over to the detenue Nagendra Prabhu.

Further it is stated that the detenue had received Rs.11.50 lakhs for construction of new house. After receiving totl amount of Rs.17,50,000/- the detenue escaped from his residence. Hence, the said Tr.Ganesan lodged a complaint on 22.09.2014 before the Commissioner of Police, Tiruppur City against the detenue Nagendra Prabhu.

11.I submit that myself and our team are still taking sincere and effective steps continuously in order to trace the detenue Nagendra Prabhu. But no clue was found by the respondent police. I further submit that as soon as I trace the detenue, they will be produced before this Honourable Court in accordance with law."

3.In view of the above, this petition is closed with a direction to the respondent police to proceed with the investigation in Cr.No.1054/2014 and keep the petitioner informed about the developments.
