IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT MADRAS
DATED : 10.02.2026
CORAM
THE HONOURABLE JUSTICE K.RAJASEKAR Crl.O.P.No.3133 of 2026 Mahadevan ... Petitioner Vs.
State Rep by Inspector of Police, Thiruvennainallur Police Station, Villupuram District ( Crime No. 660 of 2025) ... Respondent PRAYER : Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, to enlarge the petitioner on anticipatory bail in the event of arrest in Crime No.660 of 2025 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Thiruvennainallur Police Station, Villupuram District and pass orders.
For Petitioner : Mr.R. Thamaraiselvan For Respondent : Ms.J.R.Archana Government Advocate (Crl. Side)
O R D E R
The petitioner, who apprehends arrest for the alleged offence under Sections 296(b), 132, 351(3) of the BNSS Act 2023 in Cr.No.660 of 2025 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail. 1/4
2. Earlier, this Court vide order dated 02.01.2026 in Crl.O.P.No.367 of 2026 dismissed the petitioner's anticipatory bail petition for the following reasons:
"5. Considering the gravity of the offence committed by the petitioner; that the petitioner is having five previous cases are similar in nature; if anticipatory bail is granted to the petitioner he would damage the ecology and river bed, hence this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner"
3. Now, the present petition has been filed without any change in circumstances after the dismissal of the petitioner's earlier bail petition. This clearly shows that the petitioner has abused the process of law. Hence, I am not inclined to reconsider the earlier order.
4. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 10.02.2026 smn 2/4
