The Writ Petition has been filed seeking to direct the second respondent to provide permission and police protection to conduct Guru Pooja on 09.02.2023 at the premises of Sridevi Mayamma Arukottam, Mayamma Samathi, Chinnakollapatti, Salem-8.
2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has been performing Guru Pooja at Sridevi Mayamma Arukottam for the past 31 years. She had sent a representation dated 01.11.2022 to provide police protection for performing Guru Pooja at Sridevi Mayamma Arukottam, Mayamma Samathi, Chinnakollapatti, Salem, which is scheduled on 09.02.2023. Till now, no action has been taken, therefore, the present petition has been filed.
3. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent submitted that three parties are claiming right to perform Guru Pooja at Sridevi Mayamma Arukottam which is scheduled on 09.02.2023. On the basis of the representations given by them three C.S.R's were registered and the enquiry is pending in C.S.R.Nos.665, 671, 664 of 2022. He also submitted that the matter is referred to Revenue Divisional Officer, Salem for conducting a Peace Committee Meeting and the Peace
Committee Meeting is scheduled on 07.02.2023.
4. Considered rival submissions. In view of the submissions made by either side of the parties that the Peace Committee Meeting was scheduled today in connection with performing Guru Pooja at Sridevi Mayamma Arukottam, Mayamma Samathi, this Court directs the petitioner to attend the Peace Committee Meeting conducted by Revenue Divisional Officer and wait for the outcome. If the petitioner is not satisfied with the outcome of the meeting, it is open to the petitioner to approach this Court. Also, the Revenue Divisional Officer is directed to make his endeavour to dispose the claims, today itself.
5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
