ORDER

The prayer made in the writ petition is to issue a writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to grant permission and provide protection to conduct cultural programme in the event of Asakkalathur Arulmigu Sree Angalamman Temple festival in Kallakurichi Taluk, Villupuram District scheduled to be held on 01.04.2017 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 10.03.2017.

It is the grievance of the petitioner that he has submitted a representation dated 10.03.2017 to the respondent, seeking permission to conduct Cultural Programme in the event of Asakkalathur Arulmigu Sree Angalamman Temple, Kallakurichi Taluk, Villupuram District scheduled to be held on 01.04.2017. However, till date, no order has been passed by the respondent. Hence, this petition.

3. Though the petitioner sought for permission to conduct "cultural programme", learned counsel for the petitioner restricted the same to the extent of conducting Orchestra, for https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

which, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent has raised no serious objection.

In view of the submission so made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 10.03.2017 and grant permission to the petitioner to conduct Orchestra in the event of Asakkalathur Arulmigu Sree Angalamman Temple festival in Kallakurichi Taluk, Villupuram District scheduled to be held on 01.04.2017, subject to usual conditions. It is made clear that this Court has not granted any direction to conduct "Adal Padal Nigazhchi / dance programme" in the name of "cultural programme".
