ORDER
This writ petition is filed seeking a mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 05.01.2026 and to admit the petitioner to the 6th semester L.L.B course for 2026 with attendance.
2. Upon hearing the learned counsel for the petitioner and perusing the material records of the case, the grievance of the petitioner is that she is a student undergoing the three years L.L.B course. For administrative purposes relating to the 6th semester, the students were once again requested to apply online. However, due to oversight, the information did not immediately reach this petitioner and she also faced difficulty in uploading the online application. In the meanwhile, she continued to attend classes. There were also certain technical difficulties with the portal. Under the said circumstances, the student is before this Court.
3. The reasons stated by the student are not entirely acceptable. She is going to be a lawyer and most filing systems have already migrated online. She must therefore be thorough with online procedures and the follow up of cases in e-courts, etc. Be that as it may, only considering that the career of the student should not be spoiled on account of such carelessness, this Court, taking into account the extraordinary circumstances of the case, is of the view that the respondents should come to the rescue of the student.

Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents at the admission stage and though time was sought to place instructions on record, I am of the opinion that, in view of the innocuous relief sought and since time is running out, the writ petition itself is disposed of on the
basis of the limited instructions which he has on hand.
5. In view thereof, this writ petition is disposed of with the following directions:
(i) The petitioner shall be deemed to have been admitted to the 6th semester L.L.B course and for all classes attended by her so far, attendance shall be granted. If attendance has not been marked, the petitioner shall be deemed to have been attending classes throughout.
(ii) If any portal is presently closed and cannot be reopened, a special physical application may be obtained from the petitioner and taken on record. Alternatively, if the portal is reopened and the petitioner's application is required to be uploaded, the petitioner may be directed to appear before any official in the Directorate of Legal Studies, where the appropriate technical personnel shall assist her in uploading all the details. Once the details are uploaded, the petitioner's study in the 6th semester shall be regularised and the petitioner can continue the semester and write the examination. (iii) It will be open to the student to intern under Dr.G.Krishnamurthy, learned counsel and she must keep herself updated on all online filing systems and procedures.
