ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to file a final report in Crime No.471 of 2016 pending on his file within the stipulated period fixed by this Court.

2. The case of the petitioner is that as against one Devaraj and others, she has lodged a complaint and the same was registered as FIR in Crime No.471 of 2016 on the file of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 447, 294(b), 427, 506(i), 379 and 511 IPC and Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Woman Act, 2002. Though the complaint was registered on 24.09.2016, till date, final report was not filed. Hence, this petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who took notice for the respondent.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the respondent police to investigate the case https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

in Crime No.471 of 2016 pending on his file and file a final report, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition is ordered.
