ORDER

This petition has been filed to direct the second respondent to permit the petitioner to conduct masi festival on 23.02.2020 and 24.02.2020 in Periyanayagi and Angalamman Temple situated at Korakkavadi Village, Thittagudi Taluk, Cuddalore District.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner's father Siddanathan Udayar is the hereditary trustee of the temple Arulmigu Samathi Angalamman and Periyanayagi Amman Temple at Korakkavadi Village, Thittagudi Taluk, Cuddalore District. He further submitted that every year the petitioner used to conduct Masi Festival during the Tamil Month of Masi. He further submitted that in the last year also, the petitioner herein has filed direction petition in Crl.OP.No.5351 of 2019 and this Court has also granted permission by order dated 28.02.2019. He further submitted that for conducting Masi Festival for this year, the petitioner has submitted a representation before the second respondent on 03.02.2020 but so far no action has been taken on the said https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

representation. Therefore, he prayed to direct the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation and pass appropriate order.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor has submitted that the second respondent may be directed to consider the petitioner's representation and pass appropriate order within a reasonable time.

4. Considering the aforesaid submissions, the second respondent is directed to conduct enquiry with regard to the petitioner's representation dated 03.02.2020 by giving an opportunity to the petitioner to putforth his case and also rival groups, if any, and dispose of the petitioner's representation on or before 17.02.2020 and inform the result of the enquiry to the petitioner.

5. With the aforesaid directions, this petition is disposed of.
