The petitioners who were arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 17.01.2024 for the offences punishable under Sections 353, 294(b), 506(i) IPC r/w Section 3 of TNPPDL Act, in Crime No.37 of 2024 on the file of the respondent Police, seek bail.

2.This First Information Report is consequent to the registration of Crime No.38 of 2024 for which the petitioners have sought bail in Crl.O.P.No.2725 of 2024. In that case, they had assaulted the injured. The injured had been taken over for treatment to the Government Hospital, Pernambut. The complainant in FIR in Crime No.37 of 2024 is the Duty Doctor, Government Hospital, Pernambut. He had stated that while he was giving treatment, the accused entered the hospital premises and threatened him not to give treatment and they have also broke the hospital equipments. 3.Though this Court had granted bail in Crl.O.P.No.2725 of 2024/ Crime No.38 of 2024, this offence is premeditated and no public servant can discharge duty when threatened, particularly Doctors who discharge duty to save lives.
