The affidavit filed on behalf of the Geological Survey of India / 3rd respondent states that after visiting the proposed site and the proposal made, a resolution declaring Badlands of Karai Formation with Cretaceous Fossils Along Karai-Kulakkalnattam Section, Perambalur District, has been approved and uploaded in Portal GSI vide letter No.193/150/CD/Geological Heritage Site/TN/2015 dated 06.05.2015. The Chief Secretary of Government of Taml Nadu has been requested to issue necessary notification and instruction for protection and conservation of the proposed area of geological heritage site and to erect suitable boards and a follow up request has been made by the Deputy Director General, Geological Survey of India vide letter dated 22.06.2015. All protection has been assured once the notification is issued. 2.Learned counsel for the State Government, as prayed for, is granted four

(4) weeks time to take steps to issue notification. 3.We make it clear that this time period is sacrosanct unless extended and violation will be on the pain of contempt.
