ORDER

This writ petition has been filed challenging the demand notice dated 22.08.2005, in R.No.13571/A3/2005 issued by the respondent demanding the petitioner to pay a sum of Rs.2,16,000/- being tax and penalty in respect of his vehicle bearing Regn. No.TN04J3604 for the quarter ending 31.03.2005.

2. Today, when the matter came up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that pending writ petition, the petitioner has paid the entire amount as demanded by the respondent. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent has also, on instructions, admitted the payment. He has also submitted a letter from the Regional Transport Officer, Chennai East, to the Transport Commissioner, Chennai, in this regard.

3. Though the demand notice issued by the 2nd respondent has been under challenge before this court, pending writ petition, the petitioner paid the entire tax difference as demanded by the petitioner, hence, nothing remains for further adjudication in this writ petition. This writ petition is accordingly closed. No costs. Consequently, connected WMP is closed.
