This writ petition was filed challenging the order of the respondent dated 21.07.2010 and the consequential order dated 16.11.2010 in respect of the petitioners Stage Carriage Vehicle bearing Registration No.KA 10-7778 and KA 10 7779 replaced respectively in place of KA 10 D 8888 and KA 10 C 8888 plying on the route Mysore to Erode.

2. Today the matter is taken up for final disposal.
3. Mr.Ma.Pa.Thangavel, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that during the pendency of the writ petition, the petitioner has remitted the entire demand of Rs.38,70,933/- being the arrears of tax from 01.04.1986 to 15.02.2008 for different periods. Thus, he submitted that as the petitioner has remitted the entire arrears of tax, the respondent may be directed to affix counter signature on permit entries for renewal.

The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent produced a letter dated 09.10.2018 addressed by the Transport Commissioner, Chepauk, Chennai - 600 005 to the Additional Government Pleader, High Court, Chennai - 600 104, informing that the entire demand of Rs.38,70,933/- has been paid by the petitioner. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent thus submitted that there will be no impediment for the respondent to counter sign the permit entries for renewal.
5. The above said submission is recorded and the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent to adhere to the undertaking given before this Court. No costs.
