ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for direction directing the respondents to take action based upon the petitioner's representation dated 03.12.2024 and consequently direct the respondent to give police protection to the petitioner for

installation of CCTV Camera in petitioner property situated at Door No.409, Terasa Street, Pinjivakkam Kandikai Village, Kadambathur post, Tiruvallur District-631 203 and service benefits.

2. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

3. On instructions, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) submitted that on receipt of the petitioner's representation, enquiry was conducted and found that the petitioner had intended to install CCTV camera in his house facing the neighbour's house that too in the private place such as bathroom. That apart, the petitioner is seeking police protection to install CCTV camera. The police protection can be granted only to the life and limb of a person.

4. In view of the above, the representation submitted by the petitioner cannot be considered and the writ petition is devoid of merits and is liable to be dismissed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the Civil Court for appropriate relief as against his neighbour in the manner known to law.

5. Accordingly, this writ petition stands dismissed. No costs.
