Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.02.2017 for the post of Noon Meal Organiser at the Panchayat Union Primary School Centre, Thiyagai, Villupuram District. For petitioner Mr. R. Kumaravel For RR 1 & 2 Mr. M. Digvijayapandian Addl. Government Pleader For R3 Mr. S. Babu
ORDER
Mr. M. Digvijayapandian, learned Additional Government Pleader, accepts notice for respondents 1 and 2. Mr. S. Babu, learned counsel, accepts notice for the third respondent. With consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
According to the petitioner, her husband breathed his last on 14.07.2007 and the death certificate dated 28.05.2012 issued by the Revenue authorities would clearly show that she is
a widow; she is living with her 10 year old son and finds it difficult to make both ends meet by doing coolie work; while so, the second respondent issued vacancy list on 15.07.2016 for the post of Noon Meal Organiser at the Panchayat Union Primary School in Thiyadurgam Block; being fully qualified to apply for the said post under widow category, she made an application on 26.07.2016 for the said post; in pursuance thereof, on 19.01.2017, the third respondent issued call letter to her informing her to attend interview on 31.01.2017 at 10.00 a.m. along with all original certificates and she also attended the interview; however, till date, no order has been passed, notwithstanding the representation dated 22.02.2017 submitted by her seeking to accept her candidature and offer her the post in question; hence, the present writ petition seeking the aforestated relief.
The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 and 2 submits that sufficient time may be granted to the respondents 1 and 2 to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 22.02.2017. In view of the above submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 and 2, this Court directs the respondents 1 and 2 to pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 22.02.2017, on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. Costs made easy.
