ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the first respondent to dispose the representation dated 26/12/2025, within a time period as fixed by this Court.

2. The petitioner owns a Nanjai land measuring an extent of 10 Ares in Murungai Village, Arakkonam Taluk, Ranipet District comprised in S.No.179/4C1. The petitioner submits that there are about 41 Palymyra trees in his patta land, which have resulted in the growth of bushes, preventing him from carrying out agricultural activities. Further, as the petitioner's land lies along the road side, other land owners use his land as a pathway for carrying out the agricultural activities. However, due to the Palymyra trees, access to adjoining lands is obstructed. Therefore, he made representations to the respondents on 26.12.2025 and 08.01.2026, but the same were not considered by the Tahsildar Arakkonam.

3. It is also noted that a similar representation by one P.Shanmugam, whose land lies behind the petitioner's property, was considered by the second respondent and he had directed the Tahsildar to take appropriate steps for cutting the Palmyra trees. However, no action has been taken so far.

It is seen that the Tahsildar, Arakkonam was earlier directed by the District Revenue Officer to consider the representation of P.Shanmugam dated 09.02.2024, regarding cutting of Palmyra trees, but no action was taken. Similarly, the representations made by the petitioner have also not been considered by the respondents.

6. In view of the above, this Court directs the Tahsildar, Arakkonam, to take steps to remove the Palmyra trees in the petitioner's land within a period of four weeks from today. In the event that the Tahsildar fails to comply with this direction, the petitioner shall be deemed to have the approval to cut the Palmyra trees.
