ORDER

Asserting title under sale deed dated 03.09.2004, the legatees thereunder, namely M.Govindan and M.Mani, executed a sale deed in favour of the petitioner. Upon being presented for registration, it is stated that the registering officer neither registered the document nor issued a refusal check slip.

2. Mr.Stalin Abimanyu, learned Additional Government Pleader, accepts notice for both the respondents. He submits that the registering officer would either register the document or issue a speaking order of refusal within two weeks from the date of re-presentation.

3. Considering the above submissions, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the petitioner to re-present the sale deed for registration within two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order; within two weeks therefrom, subject to fulfilment of other requirements relating to registration, the registering officer shall either register the document or issue a speaking order of refusal.
