ORDER

This writ petition is filed to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records in pursuant to the impugned order passed by the 2nd respondent in proceedings No: E1/11523/08 dated 20.08.2009 and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents to grant all increments.

2. When the matter is listed today, the learned counsel for the petitioner Mrs. Swadhi Subramaniam submitted that against the disciplinary proceedings in E1/11523/08 dated 20.08.2009 an appeal has been preferred before the Secretary to the Government, Commercial Taxes and Registration Department/first

respondent herein and the prayer is limited to directing the first respondent to dispose of the appeal within a specified period.

3. Mr. C. Harsha Roy, Additional Government Pleader(Taxes) submits that a direction may be given to dispose of appeal within a prescribed time.

4. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing on either side, taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for by the learned counsel for the petitioner, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the matter, I direct the respondent to dispose the appeal within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No order as to costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions is closed.
