ORDER

Mr.A.N.Thambidurai, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents.

2. By consent, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The petitioners have filed the above writ petition to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to issue free house site patta to them in Town Survey No.4/1, Coolie Line Area, Ward-A, Block-47 & 59 of Mettur Town, Mettur Taluk, Salem District, under the special scheme on par with similarly placed persons patta order dated 20.12.2016 issued by the 3rd respondent.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners have given an application to the 3 rd respondent on 04.01.2017 to issue patta on par with similarly placed persons as per order dated 20.12.2016 passed by the 3 rd respondent. However, the 3 rd respondent has not passed any order so far.

5. Mr.A.N.Thambidurai, learned Special Government Pleader, appearing for the respondents submitted that in case of the petitioners

submitting necessary documents to treat them on par with other similarly placed persons, the rd respondent may be directed to consider the petitioners' representation and pass orders in accordance with law, within a time frame.

6. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, subject to the production of necessary documents by the petitioners to treat them on par with similarly placed persons patta order dated 20.12.2016 issued by the 3rd respondent, the 3 rd respondent is directed to consider the petitioners' representation dated 04.01.2017 and pass orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With the above observation, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
