O R D E R

The petitioner seeks a mandamus on the representation dated 04.12.2019, which had been given by the petitioner who states that he is a Senior Citizen. This has been given to the Revenue Divisional Officer, Perambalur District under the provisions of "the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007".

2. Under the said Act, the petitioner has to initiate proceedings before the District Revenue Officer in accordance with rules as provided in the Act. Then a regular enquiry would be conducted in the nature of quasi judicial proceedings and an order will be passed. As against that the aggrieved person can file an appeal before the Collector. The petitioner may follow the Rules as provided in the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.

3. With the above observation, this writ petition is disposed of, giving liberty to the petitioner to approach the appropriate authority. No costs.
