Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 29.11.2019 within the time stipulated by this Court and thereby to promote the petitioner to the post of Junior Assistant or Tax Collector and consequently pay all the attendant benefits to the petitioner.

O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 29.11.2019 wherein the petitioner had sought for promotion to the post of Junior Assistant or Tax Collector.

2.The case of the petitioner is that he is working as a Water Maintenance Assistant and that his next avenue of promotion is that of a Tax Collector. According to the petitioner, his juniors have been promoted to the said post and only petitioner has been left out. Therefore, the petitioner has made a representation to the respondents to consider the name of the petitioner for promotion to the post of Tax Collector/Junior Assistant. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

3.Heard Mr.A.Manoj Kumar, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr.P.V.Selvakumar, learned additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents.

4.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and also the limited relief that has been sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 29.11.2019 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the 2nd respondent along with a copy of the representation dated 29.11.2019 and a copy of this order.

5.This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No Costs.
