The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 20.01.2024 registered for the offences under Sections 7(5), 20(2) of Cigarettee and other Tobacco Products Act, 2003 and 328 of I.P.C in Crime No. 5 of 2024 seeks bail.

2. The learned Government Advocate stated that there is a proposal pending to detain the petitioner under Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982.

3. The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner seeks permission of this Court to withdraw this petition and he has also made an endorsement to that effect.

4. The submission made by the learned Government Advocate that the petitioner might be detained under Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982 is taken on record. In view of the endorsement made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed as withdrawn. However, the petitioner is at liberty to file a fresh petition after a period of three weeks, if necessary. 19.02.2024 smn 2/3
