ORDER

It is the case of the petitioner that he was appointed as Textile consultant in the respondent Corporation on 20.08.2009 and he continued in service for about one and a half year. According to the petitioner, he is entitled for an amount of Rs.20,000/- as salary per month for the period he worked in the respondent Corporation. But the petitioner was not paid the said amount for which he was entitled. Hence, the petitioner claimed to have submitted a representation dated 15.10.2011 seeking release of arrears of salary. Thus, complaining against the in-action of the respondents in considering the said representation dated 15.10.2011, the petitioner approached this Court by filing the present writ petition seeking writ of mandamus.

No representation for the petitioner. Ms.G.D.Jearany, learned Government Advocate (Puducherry) appearing for the respondents submitted that the respondent Corporation is in the process of winding up and all the activities of the 1st respondent were stopped since 2011. Page No.2 of 4

Having taken note of the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is of the considered view that it is for the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioner at the first instance. 4.

In view of the same, the writ petition is disposed of granting liberty to the petitioner to submit a representation before the respondents seeking release of arrears of salary. In case, if any such representation is submitted by the petitioner, the 1st respondent shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders thereon in accordance with law within a further period of eight (8) weeks from the date of submission of the representation. 5.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. The connected miscellaneous petitions, if any shall stand closed. No costs. 13.08.2024 Index :
