ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.) This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 1st and 2nd respondents to produce the body of the petitioner's son R.Ravichandran, aged about 21 years before this Court and set him at liberty.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that his son Ravichandran, aged about 21 years, went missing on 17.03.2015. Based on the complaint lodged by the Deputy Warden of the Hostel/4th respondent herein, the respondent police have registered a case in Roshanai Police Station Cr.No.114 of 2015 on 18.03.2015 for "man missing" and investigation is in progress. The hostel authorities and the police have filed counter detailing the steps that have been taken to trace the boy.

3. It is seen that that the boy while leaving the hostel room has left a note stating that he is suffering from serious health problem, which he does not want his parents to know. The petitioner/father however states that, there is some doubt on the said document. It is for the police to investigate on the vital aspects of the case and proceed in the matter in accordance with law.

4. On the basis of the material available, we are of the view that there is no illegal detention. Accordingly, this Habeas Corpus Petition is closed. However, the respondent police are directed to proceed with the investigation in Cr.No.114 of 2015 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. The petitioner and the fourth respondent shall co-operate with the police.
