ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for a direction, directing the respondents to disburse a sum of Rs.12,22,650/- for the work done by the petitioner's deceased father.

The petitioner's father was allotted contract work, engaging 86 male workers at the rate of Rs.285/- for each person per day for a period of 40 days commencing from 03.05.2016 in Ward 1 to 4 at Zone - 1 for a sum of Rs.9,80,400/- to complete several works. The said work was also executed for further period of 10 days from 17.06.2016 for a sum of Rs.2,45,100/- by order dated 17.06.2016 on the file of the first respondent. After completion of entire 50 days, the petitioner's father raised consolidated bill for a sum of Rs.12,22,650/- with an advance stamped receipt. On receipt of the same, the respondents did not disburse any amount to the petitioner's father till date. It 2/4
was not considered and no amount was disbursed to the petitioner's father. In the meanwhile, the petitioner's father died and as such the petitioner being the legal representative, filed this writ petition.
3. On perusal of the counter filed by the respondents, it is revealed that there is no dispute that the petitioner's father was allotted work order and accordingly, he had completed the works. On receipt of the bills raised by the petitioner's father, and on verification, it is revealed that the contract work was being done by him. It is also pending for approval by the third respondent. Therefore, it is not disputed that the petitioner's father after completed the work order is entitled for a sum of Rs.12,22,650/-.
4. In view of the above, the respondents are directed to disburse the sum of Rs.12,22,650/- for the work done by the petitioner's father with 6% interest per annum within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
