Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a direction in the nature of Writ of Mandamus to 2/7

direct the 1 Respondent to conduct a detailed inquiry into all projects handled by the Respondents 4 to 7 under the MNREGA Act, during the financial years 2019-2020 and 2020-2021, and consequently initiate recover proceedings against them as per law for having misappropriated the funds allotted under the MNREGA For Petitioner :

O R D E R

The writ petition has been filed to direct the 1st respondent to conduct the detailed enquiry in to all the projects handled by the respondents 4 to 7 under the MNREGA Act during the financial year. 2.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that pursuant to the complaint given by the petitioner, the 3/7

District Collector / 1st respondent herein has initiated action under Fundamental Rules under Section 17A of Tamil Nadu Civil Service (Disciplinary and Appeal) Rules. The learned Government Advocate would further submit that the term of the president is for 5 years from the year 2019 to 2025 and the same got over on 05.01.2025. The Government has also issued G.O.Ms.No.1 of 2025 Rural Development of Panchayat Raj (PR-1) Department.

3.Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record. 4.In view of the above submission, and the term of the president is over on 05.01.2025 nothing survives in the writ petition for further adjudication.

5.Accordingly, the writ petition stands closed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
