O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to dispose of the representation made by the petitioner who has sought for compassionate appointment.

2.The case of the petitioner is that her father was working as a Mazdoor in the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board and he died on 28.12.2004 while he was in service. According to the petitioner, her brother had given an application seeking for compassionate appointment in the year 2007. The brother of the petitioner ultimately died in the year 2013. In the meantime, the petitioner got married in the year 2013 and there is some matrimonial dispute. The petitioner, thereafter, made a representation in the year 2018 seeking for compassionate appointment on the ground that the application made by her brother was pending and he died in the year 2013 and therefore, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the claim made by the petitioner for compassionate appointment must be considered.

3.Heard M/s.D.Bharathy, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr.R.Sivakumar, learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondent. 4.In the considered view of this Court, compassionate appointment is granted to tide over a financial crisis which occurs due to the sudden death of an employee. In the present case, the father of the petitioner died in the year 2004. The brother of the petitioner had applied for compassionate appointment in the year 2007. He unfortunately died in the year 2013. In the meantime, the petitioner got married and she had some problems in the matrimonial home. Therefore, the petitioner has made a request to the respondent in the year 2018. After nearly 14 years from the date of death of the father, the petitioner is seeking for compassionate appointment.

This Court finds that the application made by the petitioner is well beyond time and it does not satisfy the requirements for consideration for compassionate appointment. Therefore, no useful purpose will be served in directing the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner.

5.This Court does not find any merits in this petition and accordingly the same is dismissed. No Costs.
