O R D E R

(Made by Ms.Indira Banerjee, Chief Justice) This writ petition has been filed seeking directions on respondent nos.1 to 5 to issue publications in Tamil and English newspapers indicating that 10 rupee coins are valid ones. The petitioner has also sought orders from this Court to direct shops, transporters, hospitals and railways to accept 10 rupee coins and render justice.

2.From the documents annexed to the typed set of papers, it is apparent that Reserve Bank of India is periodically creating awareness among public through press/electronic media that tender of 10 rupee coins is valid tender and can be accepted. 3.We cannot pass blanket orders directing shopkeepers, traders and others who are not amenable to the writ jurisdiction of this Court to accept 10 rupee coins. The petitioner has the option of getting the coins exchanged from the Reserve Bank or from any other bank.

4.In view of the communication of the Reserve Bank of India, no order need be passed in this writ petition, which stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.11377 of 2018 is closed.
