Respondents Prayer: The Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd to 4th respondents to forbear the 5th to 21st respondents from in any manner under the guise of conducting the function of Kottur Palaniyur Arulmighu Mahaliamman Temple situated at Palaniyur Kottur Aanamalai Circle Coimbatore District to be held on 04.03.2023 to 13.03.2023 till the disposal of the proceedings in O.Mu. No.15804/ 2022/Z1/ dated 04.04.2022 and to consider the petitioners representation dated 25.03.2022.

O R D E R

Writ petition is filed seeking Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation and not to conduct temple festival in Arulmighu Mahaliamman Temple situated at Palaniyur, Kottur, Aanamalai Circle, Coimbatore to be held on 4.3.2023 to 13.3.2023. 2/4

2. The main contention of the petitioner is that the private respondents are collecting funds from the public for conducting temple festival. Last year, during the temple festival, mishap occurred due to fall of Chariot. Therefore, according to the petitioner, temple festival should not be conducted in the aforesaid temple.

3. Learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents on written instructions submitted that this year under the supervision of the second respondent, temple festival will be conducted and they have also taken necessary safeguards in this regard.

4 Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has submitted that if the function is conducted under the guidance of the second respondent, the petitioner has no grievance, but the second respondent should ensure that the function should be conducted peacefully. 5 Such view of the matter, the writ petition stands disposed off.
