O R D E R

In Crl.OP.No.15598 of 2018, this Court issued the following directions on 18.06.2018:

"It is seen that on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Crime No.444 of 2018 has been registered on 23.06.2018, and the investigation is in progress. Hence, this Court directs the respondent police to complete the investigation within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and either file a charge https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

sheet or closure report as the case may be, under due intimation to the de facto complainant".

2. Alleging that the respondent has not complied with the aforesaid directions, this contempt petition is filed.

3. Today, Mr.Miller, Inspector of Police, M.K.B. Nagar Police Station, Chennai, is present before this Court. He filed a counter affidavit dated 01.08.2019, wherein he has stated that the investigation in Crime No.444 of 2018 has been completed and the case has been closed as "mistake of fact" on 28.07.2019. A copy of the closure report has been furnished to the learned counsel for the petitioner across the bar.

4. In view of the above, this Contempt Petition is closed with liberty to the petitioner to work out his remedy in the manner known to law.
