ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 26.06.2023 and consequently to take necessary action against 2 to 4 respondents to recover the compensation towards the death of the petitioner's wife on account of fire accident due to leakage of gas.

2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner's wife, died on 18.04.2023, on account of fire accident due to leakage

of gas. Aggrieved thereby, the petitioner lodged a complaint before the 6th respondent pursuant to which, FIR was registered against the 5th respondent in Crime No.66 of 2023 u/s. Accidental Fire. It is the case of the petitioner that his representation dated 12.08.2023 seeking compensation towards the death of his wife, was rejected by the 2nd respondent on the ground of delay in intimating the accident. Subsequently, the petitioner addressed a representation dated 26.06.2023 to the 1st respondent pursuant to which, the 1st respondent passed an order dated 16.03.2024 directing the 2nd respondent/Indian Oil Corporation Limited to disburse the compensation in favour of the petitioner on account of the death of his wife within a period of one month. However, till date, the said order has not been complied with. Hence, the present Writ Petition.

3. On the above contention, this Court heard the learned counsel appearing for the respondents.

4. In view of the limited relief sought for in this Writ Petition, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the 2nd respondent to comply with the order passed by the 1st respondent dated 16.03.2024 in co-ordination with the 3rd and 4th respondent within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. This Writ Petition stands disposed of with the aforesaid direction. There shall be no order as to costs.
