This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to pay a sum of Rs.4,74,327/- [Four Lakhs Seventy Four Thousand Three Hundred and Twenty Seven only] with interest, which according to the petitioner is due and payable for the publication made by them based on the Government order dated 12.04.2022.

2. Heard Ms.P.Devi Sai Monica, learned counsel for petitioner and Mrs.S.Mythreya Chandru, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner had effected newspaper publications on behalf of the Director of Department of Information and Public Relations and towards this, a bill was also raised and the respondent failed and neglected to make the payment. The representation that was sent also did not evoke any response. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court. 2/5

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and also the fact that there is no serious dispute on the amount that is payable to the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the respondent to pay a sum of Rs.4,74,327/- [Four Lakhs Seventy Four Thousand Three Hundred and Twenty Seven only] to the petitioner on or before 20.06.2023. If the amount is not paid before the date fixed by this Court, the respondent is directed to pay interest at the rate of 7.5% p.a. from the date when the amount became due and payable till the date of actual payment.

This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
