Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Habeas Corpus to call for the records of the first respondent in T.P.D.A.No.3631 dated 24.01.2021 with reference to Petition Order.No.C2/05/2021 dated 23.01.2021, setting aside the order of detention passed therein and directing the respondent to produce the detenu viz., Selvaraj, son of Chinrasu, aged about 27 years, now detained in Central Prison, Cuddalore, before this Court and set him at liberty. ORDER
[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] The petitioner challenges the impugned order of detention in D.O.No.C2/05/2021 dated 23.01.2021, detaining her husband as "Bootlegger" under Section 2(b) of the Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982.
The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) reports that the order of detention passed against the detenu has been revoked by the Government by its order in G.O.Rt.No.1770, Home, Prohibition and Excise (XIV) Department, dated 15.04.2021 and he has also produced a copy of the Government Order. Recording the same, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed.
