The petitioner/second accused who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offence punishable under Sections 341, 294(b), 323, 324, 336, 427, 392, 397, 506(ii) of IPC in Crime No.196 of 2023 with reference to the occurrence which took place on 11.08.2023, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. It is stated that when the defacto complainant was returning from the work place, he was stopped by the accused and threatened to give money and thereafter all the accused used filthy words and attacked him and they ran away from the place. The first accused had been arrested and detained under Tamilnadu Act 14 of 1982 and the other accused are still absconding.

3. The copy of the accident report had been forwarded wherein it is seen that there is injury in the face and there has been a fracture of the chin.

4. Taking into consideration the seriousness of the injury which is categorised as grievous, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Petition stands dismissed. 13.02.2023 vsg https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
