Respondents Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to conduct the election for the AA.226 Modakurichi Primary Agricultural Co-operative Credit Society, Modakurichi638 104, Erode District by providing police protection and under the supervision of the higher officials of the Revenue Department by taking Video Coverage for the dates from the date of nomination to counting date i.e. from 16.4.2018 to 24.4.2018 at the petitioner's cost.

ORDER

The Writ Petition has been filed seeking to issue of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to conduct the election for the AA.226 Modakurichi Primary Agricultural Co-operative Credit Society, Modakurichi-638 104, Erode District by providing police protection and under the supervision of the higher officials of the Revenue Department by taking Video Coverage for the dates from the date of nomination till the date of counting i.e. from 16.4.2018 to 24.4.2018 at the petitioner's cost. 2.

Mr.M.S.Palanisamy, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Election Commission and Mr.L.P.Shanmugasundaram, learned Special Government Pleader for the respondent Cooperative Society have got no objection in granting the aforesaid direction.

In view of the same, this Court directs the respondents herein to provide sufficient police protection, if necessary and also allow the petitioner to cover the entire election process through video coverage at his own cost during the election process in AA.226 Modakurichi Primary Agricultural Co-operative Credit Society, Modakurichi-638 104, Erode District from the date of nomination till the date of counting. 4.

With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
